A Brief History of Our Establishment and Development
Founded in 2000, our Center became the first cardiology institution in the South Kazakhstan Region. Since its opening, the Center has introduced advanced diagnostic and treatment methods, including testing for biomarkers of myocardial necrosis, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, and angiographic examinations.
Through the efforts of its pioneering cardiologists and the support of public authorities, the Center became one of the region’s leading medical institutions.
The year 2007 marked an important milestone: the Center became the first organization in Kazakhstan to be included in the European Acute Coronary Syndrome Registry. This was a significant step in developing international cooperation and adopting international approaches to diagnosis and treatment.
In 2009, the Center became the first institution in Kazakhstan to provide round-the-clock percutaneous coronary interventions—coronary artery stenting for patients with myocardial infarction.

July 5, 2023, was a historic day for Shymkent Heart Center: the first successful heart transplant in the southern region was performed. The operation was carried out jointly by the Center’s specialists and the team from the National Research Cardiac Surgery Center under the leadership of Academician Y. V. Pya.
