Brief History and Development
Founded in 2000, our Center became the first cardiology institution in the South Kazakhstan region. Since its opening, we have implemented advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques, such as myocardial necrosis biomarker detection, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, and angiographic studies. Thanks to the efforts of pioneering cardiologists and government support, the Center quickly became a leading regional institute.
2007 marked a significant milestone — we became the first organization in Kazakhstan to be included in the European Registry of Acute Coronary Syndromes, confirming our compliance with international standards of diagnosis and treatment.
In 2009, we were the first in Kazakhstan to begin 24/7 percutaneous coronary interventions (stenting coronary arteries during myocardial infarction).

6,730 open-heart surgeries performed.
3,500 coronary artery bypass grafts performed.
66 cases of ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) conducted.
16 LVADs (left ventricular assist devices) implanted.
2 successful heart transplants completed.
On July 5, 2023, a historic event took place — the first successful heart transplant in the southern region of Kazakhstan was performed at the Shymkent Heart Center. The operation was carried out jointly by our specialists and a team from the National Scientific Cardiac Surgery Center under the leadership of Academician Y. V. Pya.
